If you missed FOX’s new show “24” on Tuesday night, you’ll have another chance to catch the premiere this Friday night! I was enthralled with this show since the moment it started. The show is the best new show of this season — hands down, not comparison. “24″ was and still is feared by other network executives, why?

“24″ is a show that is based on a gimmick — that the show is based on one exact day and each of the 24 hours is exactly one real hour in that day.

But, the show doesn’t rely on this gimmick as much as you think — yes, there is a clock that shows up from time to time to remind you of the time, but the writing and tight direction is what kept me interested. The premiere started up the three (yes, three) story threads that will run through the season.

The main thread follows Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), a CIA operative in the Counter Terrorism Unit, as he and his team try to stop an assassination attempt on the first “viable” black candidate for President. Another thread follows a German photographer that could or could not be the shooter. And then there is Jack’s personal life, which is in shambles because of his work — his daughter has just snuck out to party and Jack is unable to help is wife find her.
