Well, Nintendo released what the original GameBoy Advance should have been: The GameBoy Advance SP (for “Special”). The difference between the original and the SP is the body style and front-lit screen. It looks like Nintendo is releasing this SP version to combat the cellphone makers, since new cellphones (like Nokia’s “Ngage”) are now starting to become gaming platforms. Nintendo has ads that aim at adults rather than kids for the SP. I got one on the day of release and I must say the thing is pretty cool, the front-lit screen is much better than the original screen. The screen and actual internal hardware is the same as the original, the front-light is new. Will write more about it later.
