Welp, my wife and I are experiencing the joys of home ownership! Our shower was leaking bad and it was damaging the walls. So, we hired a contractor to redo the shower. They started work today and tore down the walls of the shower to redo it all — complete with “Superior Moisture and Mold Protection” backer board.

Apparently, the previous owners of the house did a pretty (refraining from swearing) crappy job with the shower — tile directly on sheet-rock and all. Anyways, the gross thing was that they found a dead mouse behind the wall. So, gross! See pictures of how it is coming along here (and no, there are no pictures of the dead mouse!)

We are also having a cross-beam (wall-tie) in the garage replaced.
