Johnny Hughes sent the official CentOS 4.4 announcement this morning. Major changes are listed as:
Mozilla has been replaced by Seamonkey, Ethereal has been replaced by Wireshark. Firefox and Thunderbird have moved from the 1.0.x to 1.5.x versions. Openoffice.org has moved from the 1.1.2-x to the 1.1.5-x version.

Here’s a non-scientific survey…It’s not that big of a surprise which distro of Linux was the most popular.

Ubuntu (29.2%)
Debian (12.2%)
openSUSE (10.1%)
Gentoo (9.6%)
Fedora (7%)

This survey definitely does not represent what is actually deployed.

It took me a little to figure this out (including a visit to the #centos IRC channel on freenode.net), but I finally got the upgrade from CentOS 4.3 to 4.4 working.

CentOS 4.4

It looks like CentOS 4.4 is now being propagated out to mirrors. Hopefully a bittorrent seed for the DVD will be available soon. I have a lot of the 4.4 updates installed already (from yum), but I am curious what an “upgrade” from media will be like.
