The Homelink in the Solara never worked with any garage doors because it did not support rolling codes. In the RX350, it is a different story. The Homelink installed in the RX actually supports rolling codes. With Eileen in the car, we set out to program one of the buttons in the RX to open the garage door. It took two tries, but now I do not need my garage door opener in the RX anymore! Yay! For those of you who want to watch a video on how to get Homelink working, try this page.

I have a 2006 Solara and am in the process of programming it to work with my old-style garage door that does not have rolling codes. I have been using it successfully for about a year with a rolling-code Genie opener.
