Apple Store

Yes, I have been on an “I Hate Apple” mood lately and my recent dealings with the Apple Store at Oakridge has not helped my attitude. I will never spend another dollar at an Apple Store. Ever. The “geniuses” at the Genius Bar are abso-fucking-lute idiots. They don’t know what they are talking about and are a bunch of condescending jerks — at least the bunch over at the Oakridge Mall location. From what I have read on the Apple support forums, the Oakridge location is not an anomaly either.

My problem is not just with the “geniuses” but also with the way the Apple Store is run — mainly the 10% restocking fee. Unless there is a directive from mothership, there are to be no exchanges or returns of open items without a 10% restocking fee. If you want, you can try to argue with the “genius” or the store manager, but it will most likely be fruitless.

When I argued with both of those fucktards, I was told by the manager that other electronics stores have a restocking fee for high end electronics. Oh yea? Lets say I ordered a high end electronic device from Amazon and I didn’t like it because white is so yesterday. I log into Amazon.com and request a return. Amazon will not only happily pay for sending me a box to return the item in, they will also pay for shipping to get the item back! Fry’s Electronics has no restocking fee. Best Buy has no restocking fee. The only place that comes to mind that has a restocking fee is CompUSA — and we all know how suck ass CompUSA is.

To hell with the Apple Store. Never again.

I ended up calling the Apple support line and they were very helpful.

Apple products are good. Apple Stores suck ass. Recent Apple business practices suck ass. Apple really needs to straighten up — they are no longer just a niche player and they are reaching a whole lot more people now. Their image is ever more important to maintain. And the recent issues that they have had are not helping maintain their image of a great company.
