Go ahead, flame me.

I'm using a Mac and an iPhone right now, and I can say it's getting pretty darn tough to not be continuously bickering about Apple's crap on the iPhone (especially on the AppStore) and crappy choices when it comes to how friggin hot their hardware runs.

TJ, the answer for you is to stop trying to talk to people about using Apple products.

alice, I'm the only Mac user in my group of friends and I'm probably one of the 20-30 thousand Mac users in my country.
So it's like everybody's hating Vista and asking me how life with a Mac is. And they're getting some really mixed answers right there :)

And add to that the fact that I really enjoy bickering... :P

difference is that Apple's not a monopoly.

Another difference is that billions of phones have banned billions of apps for decades (i.e. my former phone would not let me install anything except for the handful of crap that AT&T sold). More apps get installed on iphones by far than any other phone.

Think of the iphone as a console.

andrew,

i think we can remove the whole monopoly thing with a simple secondary test by filling in the blanks as such:

apple, firefox, macos x, safari.

hyperbole's like "billions of phones" and "banned billions of apps" don't help to sell your argument :) and i'd like to see the proof about more apps getting installed on iphones. i would really call that a hyperbole also.
