I liked how in this episode they explored the spore drive of the Discovery. The episode felt more conventional than the first three episodes, as if they show is starting to settle in.
The twist with the tardigrade was nice. I liked how the writers built up to the moment of discovery that it was a navigator.
How did someone without much thought to security become the commander of security? Landry clearly knew that the tardigrade's skin was resistant to phasers set to kill, yet she still took down the shield to the holding pen.
Right now, the Discovery is not a pretty ship in my eyes. Maybe it'll grow on me. I do like how the dish of the ship spins like a UFO.
