Lethe (DIS S01E06)

November 21, 2018

This was an interesting episode and I liked how they explored relationship between Sarek, Spock and Burnham.

I still have my suspicions about Tyler, especially now that he's been installed as the chief of security on the Discovery.

I like how Burnham and Tilly are getting along together. When I first saw them together, I thought the relationship would go a different way -- more of the an "odd couple" kind of relationship.

The most interesting part of this episode is the relationship and conflict between Captain Lorca, who is clearly unstable, and Admiral Cornwell.

Spoilers

The ending where Lorca subtly delays the rescue of Cornwell in order to keep is command of Discovery continues to build on Lorca being a very unconventional and morally ambiguous Captain -- where the ends justify the means.

I love the irony of the scene between Lorca and Burnham at the end. After Lorca offers the position of Science Specialist to Burnham, she comments how she is grateful to work under the command of a Captain like Lorca.
