The crew of the Enterprise arrive at the farthest human colony, Terra Nova. The Terra Nova colony has been a mystery to Earth for 70 years because it's distance and because they cut off communication. A survey from orbit shows that the colony is in ruins. The crew of the Enterprise go down to see what happened. Like other episodes: Chaos ensues.
Reed gets captured by some humans living in caverns on the planet. The crew treis to figure out what the humans are and how to rescue Reed. The humans are descendants of the original colonists. Archer offers to help one of the humans who was a child from before the acid rain and radiation decimated the colonists and forced most to go underground. An asteroid hit the planet just shortly after the colonists arrived and caused the acid rain and radiation.
Archer and crew try to convince these humans to relocate to a part of the planet that is not irradiated. A shuttle accident forces Archer and the colonists to work together and gain each other's trust.
Lung cancer is easy to treat in the future.
Phase pistols are great chainsaws.
Mayweather gets a seat at the Captain's table for a meal.
Not a bad episode, certainly memorable.
