Space the final frontier.
Kirk, McCoy and an ensign arrive at a planet to check up on an archeologist who seems to look different to everyone.
McCoy's nickname is "Plum". Heh.
Captain Kirk because of William Shatner is ever cool, suave and charming.
This is a cold opening for a show, there is no launching of the NCC-1701, we join the crew of the Enterprise without introduction (though at this point, they don't need an intro).
Crew members are dropping like flies.
Not quite sure why the alien did not head for the cafeteria and get some salt instead of killing so many people.
I am watching the re-mastered version of the show with the new CGI version of the Enterprise. I switched between the re-mastered version and the original one without the enhanced effects to see the difference. I am glad the people doing the restoration chose to stick with the same style as the original special effects.
The episode had a horror-scifi Twilight Zone feel to it.
