Requiem for Methuselah (TOS S03E19)

June 2, 2018

There is an outbreak on The Enterprise of Rigelian Fever. There isn't enough of the medicine needed to cure it and the crew could all die. Kirk, Bones and Spock beam down to a planet that has the resources. They are created by a flying drone that shoots lasers at them. There is one human on the planet, his name is Flint. He tells them to leave at once.

Notes

Flint lied about being alone on the planet.

Another episode with an all-powerful being on a planet living in what looks to be something from the Earth's past. This time with fancy artwork and brandy.

Rayna, does she have a special quality that attracted Kirk? It doesn't seem so. So, that means that Kirk seems to fall in love with woman quite quickly -- or he's just a horn dog.

What is Kirk's obsession with Rayna? His crew is about to perish and all he can do is think about Rayna, someone he's met just a few minutes ago. It makes not sense. The Kirk thing really ruins this episode -- he fights Flint even though he knows his crew is dying. This is just stupid.

Oh boy, a room full of Raynas. 16 of them. But, Kirk still won't leave the planet and bring the medicine back to the ship. Rayna is an android. Rayna is a Replicant, a Nexus series. We need a Voigt-Kampff machine.

Flint is Brahms, DaVinci and a bunch of other people. He 3834BC is when he was born. He seems to be an immortal.

There was a lot of Spock exposition, it was too much.

Spock invading Kirk's mind without Kirk knowing. Good intentions, but really, that's bad Spock. Really bad.
