Ok, someone tell me where I can get a job where when I retired I get $375,000 per year for the rest of my life. And then when I die my wife will pick up the money where it left off. Update (7/10/2001): According to the San Jose Mercury News, George Shaheen will have to line up with the rest of the creditors at Webvan's doors to get his $375,000 a year. Poor guy. Article Link. Apparently, George Shaheen, the former CEO of the now bankrupt Webvan will still be receiving $375,000 per year for the rest of his freakin' life! And when he dies the money will continue to flow to his wife until she kicks the bucket. According to the article, he's now 57. If he lives to the age of 75 then he would be able to collect $7 million dollars! So what about the 800 people who were laid off earlier from Webvan? Or the 2,000 that just lost their jobs today? What happens to their "retirement" pay for the rest of their lives? They were the ones that made the company truly run right? Are you outraged about this difference? Or do you think it's fair that George gets $375,000 per year for the rest of his life while everyone else gets...well...nothing.
