US is at war, but is it the right kind of war?

october 8, 2001

Well, we've started bombing the hell out of Afganastan. What do you all think? I think that the bombing is wrong, we should do something more decisive than to return to the whole "smart bombing" crap that was tried and failed against Saddam Hussein.

And although in this time of war I should support the President of this great nation, I still find it hard to do because he doesn't know what he's talking about and he doesn't know what he said. Yes, I support him, but I want him to straighten out his act and think before he speaks. Straight out undiplomatic statements like "wanted dead of alive" is not what we need to be hearing from our President -- it's something that the lay-people can say, but our President needs to be a level-headed leader of this country and he needs to be ready to deal diplomatically with different nations and when he says something idiotic like that, it just reflects badly on us as a country.

Let me give you an example of the pure foolishness that is plaguing this administration. On September 21, 2001, our President Bush declared that "it doesn't make sense to fire a `$2 million missile into a $10 dollar tent to hit a camel in the butt.'" (Reuters Article). And now that the war has started, what has he ordered our military forces to do? Yea, that's right, missile strikes. Dammit Mr. President, show some balls. Do what you say and say what you do -- you campaigned on your belief that Capital Hill people stink because they don't do what they say and say what they do. That the Capital Hill people play the Capital Hill Game. Now it turns out that you are no better than them and am playing the Capital Hill Game too?

What do you think of the war efforts and our President's actions so far? Vote in the poll to the right there. Lets see what everyone thinks.
