Poor iPod

october 21, 2002

With my iBook in the shop my poor iPod didn't receive the attention it deserved. The Archos got all of my attention, what with the 30GB harddrive upgrade and the cool RockBox firmware it should have. But now that I got my iBook back it's back in business for my iPod. I've upgraded the iPod to the newest iPod firmware 1.2.1 which is pretty cool. It allows the iPod to do more stuff than just play music. It allows it to display contacts (like the 1.1 version) and also display a calendar! Neat, though I don't think it'll replace my Handspring Treo 90, it is a nice addition. It works together with the MacOSX Address book, iCal, and iSync to do the whole PIM thing. Also, iTunes 3 is pretty darned cool. So, I think my little iPod -- it's just the original 5GB version with the actual scroll wheel -- will be travelling with me this next business trip and my trusty workhorse, the Archos, will stay home and take a rest.
