How UnAmerican

march 20, 2003

America stands for freedom. Amongst that freedon is freedom of speech. How then do we look at ourselves as Americans when we can't even critisize the President's stance on Iraq without people burning CDs and radio stations pulling songs? That's just what happened with the Dixie Chicks. How sad the situation is. "Singer Natalie Maines in London that the group was 'ashamed' that Mr Bush was from Texas." How is that compared to the parodies of the President? Or the news commentaries that criticize President Bush? Or even yours truly who doesn't really think President Bush is up to par? More boycotts? Yea, the boycotts are also part of freedom of speech, but seriously, do we need to make such a big deal about it?
