Looks like SuSE has beat everyone out the gate with the first OS for AMD's 64-bit Opteron chip. They have released an official statement about SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 for AMD64 which costs about $450 per server. It will scale to up to 64 processors and 512GB of RAM.
