Anyhoo, I'm an avid user of Ulead's PhotoImpact and will continue to be. But, PI8 has become somewhat of a bloated application and still does cost $80. Don't get me wrong though, the program is definitely worth the $80 since it does a helluvalot of automated stuff. But I have been starting to get into using Gimp for Windows and would suggest it to everyone who just got a digital camera and has some pictures to touch up. Gimp offers all the features in PI8 (except for some automation) and Photoshop, but with a price tag of $0. It is a pretty powerful piece of photo-editting software and it's free, so why not give it a try. I must say there is a slight learning curve to Gimp, but stick with it and you'll be surprised at how much you can accomplish with this free piece of software!
