OpenCourseWare @ MIT

august 17, 2003

MIT learning without the MIT tuition (nor the MIT degree). Checkout MIT's ambitious project called OpenCourseWare which is currently just getting out of pilot phase, but has quite a few MIT course all posted up. OCW lets everyone share in the knowledge of MIT's top notch courses. You'll still have to buy books, but all the courseware is there online and for free -- lectures, lecture notes, quizes, test, etc. All you have to do is buy the book that goes with the course and you can be learning the same stuff those MIT guys are learning. Sure you won't get that degree from MIT, but you'll be a bit more educated. What a great idea, I hope more colleges and universities take on this initiative.
