Google Calculator

august 18, 2003

Google quietly introduced what must be the coolest feature that the search engine has: A calculator. All you have to do is go to the search site and type in something that you want calculated -- in plain english or in math-speak. For instance type in "1 gallon in quarts" and it'll return "1 US Gallon = 4 US Quarts". Or "two plus two" and "2 + 2" and "2 plus two" all return "4". How about "sin of 90"? That gives "sin(90) = 0.893996664". Pretty cool. Try out "speed of light times two" and you'll get an answer for that.
