iPod PDA?

may 12, 2004

I got my iPod synchronizing more than just music now. It is happily synchronizing contacts and calendars using Apple's iSync. I cannot enter information into my iPod, but I can keep all my contacts and calendars on it for reference. My SonyEricsson T610 keeps my contacts and calendar also -- but only a limited version. The contacts do not have street addresses (not important most of the time) and notes. The calendar is limited to 8 weeks in advance (iSync limitation that can be adjusted, but makes for long sync times). So having the extra information on the iPod is a very nice option. Will an iPod replace a PDA? Probably not since one cannot directly enter information into it, but it does make for a good reference PDA for contacts and calendars -- and it is a cool music player to boot!
