I change my daily browser as quick as I change my socks. Over the last few days I had been trying out OmniWeb from OmniGroup. It is a decent application based on Apple's WebKit. I really like the graphical tabs feature. But, there was something that was really bothering me. The ad blocking feature did not work all that well. I tried all sorts of different ways to try to block ads, some would get blocked, others would stay. It was a bit squirrelly at best. Overall though, it is a nice application. Before the weekend I was still using Mozilla's Firefox for a while because I really like the AdBlock extension. The one huge drawback of Firefox for MacOS X is that it looks like a Unix app and not like an Aqua app. That still bugs me. So, now that Camino 0.8.1 is out with a bunch of bug fixes and small upgrades, it's time that I switched back to Camino. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Camino because it takes the best of the Mozilla Gecko engine and puts it together with the best interface around. For now I'll have to live without the AdBlock extension and just use the old school userContent.css adblocking method.
