january 16, 2005Instead of an All Rights Reserved type copyright for the work here on ultramookie.com, I am putting it under the Creative Commons license. That means that I reserve some rights to my work, but it can be shared freely. The exact license is the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 license which means that if you want to use my work, you have to follow these guidelines:
- Attribution. You must give the original author credit.
- Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
- Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one.
See the license for more details (like the legalese). Anyways, I hope more people (writers, musicians, filmmakers, etc) take up on the Creative Commons rather than an All Rights Reserved-type licensing. Sharing is good and the Creative Commons makes sharing easy while still retaining credit for your work.
