So, if you haven't heard the news yet, Nobuyuki Idei has stepped down as the Chairman of Sony. In to replace him is not the front-runner candidate Ken Kutaragi, but Sir Howard Stringer who ran the content side of the house (movies and music). Stringer will be the first non-Japanese to run Sony and he faces an uphill chanllenge. First, he does not speak Japanese. Second, I believe he will face some resentment from the Japanese management. And third, he has a lot of changes he'll need to implement in order to steer Sony back in the right direction. I am all with Stringer and hope he does his best to get Sony back on track.
