Hmm, if you haven't noticed, I started using song lyrics as "subtitles" to my blog (look up, right now it says "it's a shotgun baby..." At first, I did it just because I thought it was cool. But, I have found an neat side-effect of the subtitles: I can gauge the fresheness of the difference search indices with them. For instance, Google's new Blog Search is really stale. A search for myself shows that the lyric was "in excess...and elegantly wasted..." which was a few months ago (before I started keeping track). Yikes! Their main index, at least for the front page of my site is pretty fresh. And so is Yahoo!'s.
