Just One More...

november 30, 2005

I'll take better pictures tomorrow or this weekend, but I got one last watch for a while. This is my very first automatic watch, all my others are quartz. I didn't want to spend lots of money on an automatic (read as: thousands of dollars on a Rolex, Breitling, or Omega), instead I wanted to get one to wear normally without worrying. I found a great looking Invicta 2248 at Great Timing. I haven't ever heard of Invicta, but they got quite a few good reviews (the Invicta 8926 is the same as the 2248, the only difference is that the 8926 has a black bezel and no decoration on the dial). I ordered the 2248 from Great Timing on Monday and to my surpise it showed up on my doorstep today! That was quick delivery (and I must say the customer service at Great Timing is awesome)! I still need to get the watch bracelet resized for my wrist (it is way too loose) and then I can start wearing it. It is a great looking watch and feels very solid. I really like the display back on the watch -- basically the back of the watch is mineral glass and is clear, so I can see the rotor and all the moving parts inside, very cool. It came in a decorative, bright yellow box that looks very nice, especially for the cost of the watch (just near $100). The watch will definitely not keep as good of time as my Casio G-Shock Atomic Solar (mechanical watches gain or lose time by the minutes per month), but still it is a very cool watch to have. I'll write more about it later.
