This year, my wife and I decided to make donations to charities in each other's names for our Christmas presents. My wife chose St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital not only researches diseases, but they also helps families in need. From their website, "All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay." I chose one of my favorite charities, Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest Food Bank provides food for people in need in our community. From their website, "For every $1 donated the Food Bank provides two nutritious, well-balanced meals to the community." In this time of giving, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I encourage you to spend less on gifts for yourself and give to a charity of your choice. If you don't have a charity in mind, support the two that my wife and I supported. Have a wonder, safe and happy holiday season!
