january 27, 2006When I started at Sony, I became friends a group of five guys. I just got news today that another Sony guy has left. Last week, one got notice of his impending doom at the company. So, now almost six years later, of the six of us:
- One at a privately held .com
- One at a publicly held .com
- One at a start-up
- One getting laid off
- One studying
- One still at Sony (who just moved out of the storage group)
Wow, how times have changed. The stock shot up almost 15% yesterday on good earnings news. But, those earnings were not within the group that we had worked in (mainly storage, but some video conferencing).
I still got buddies in the storage group that I met later on in my career at Sony, I will wait and see how they fare.
