My NSLU2 has been Unslung for a while, but I wanted more from it: By unslinging the box, it continues to run the standard Linksys firmware, which leaves a lot of stuff in memory that I don't need. Also, the whole filesystem is pretty convoluted (since Linksys has a lot of the stuff locked down). Anyways, yesterday I flashed my NSLU2 with SlugOS and started playing around with it. It is pretty nice, letting me use my flash card the way I wanted to and it also installs the whole root filesystem onto the flash card. With a different variant (and a larger USB storage device), I can even install Debian. But, that is a little too much for me.
