october 18, 2006The TV season is in full swing. How do I know? The first victims of bad ratings have already been cut ("Runaway"). So, what am I watching this season?
- Battlestar Galactica. It got off to a slow start, but the writing is still top notch. Last week's episode was getting the series back on track for excitement and good drama. Battlestar Galactica is still the best show on TV.
- Lost. Still a great show, but they seem to be changing course a bit. The unexplained things from the first and second season (Polar Bears??) are slowly being explained in a scientific fashion. So far, I haven't seen all the cast members, but I think tonight's episode will flesh that all out. Still a TV show worth watching.
- Heroes. A surprise show for me. It took me about four episodes to get hooked. The show comes off as X-Men Lite, but it is well-written and entertaining. Don't miss the comics that are on NBC's site.
- Doctor Who. Campy and cheesy. Yet pretty entertaining. David Tennant makes for a good new Doctor.
- 6 Degrees. Pretty interesting show. I am not sure how they can sustain the show though. Bridget Moynahan is a pretty bad actress.
- Vanished. The editing and effects work on this show are overdone. But, the writers are taking some chances. What they did to the main character was a big risk and I hope it pays off. Some of the acting is bad, but over all a decent show.
- Standoff. Funny at times, silly at other times. I watch it, but I wouldn't miss it if it got cut.
- The Nine. I thought this was a pretty interesting show after the premiere, but there's something about it that I can't get into. The following episodes are still sitting on the DVR.
That is it (on top of Mythbusters). I think American Idol will be another show added to the watching list when it finally comes on the air. Oh, and not to forget 24 when it comes on air also.
