CentOS5

march 26, 2007

Well, Red Hat released RHEL5 on March 14, 2007. The CentOS team's goal is to get CentOS5 out within 14 days. That means that it should be out...well...in two days. I'm eagerly awaiting this release. It looks really nice, especially since I have been using RHEL5 Desktop for a while now and have seen much of the basic features. I cannot wait to get CentOS5 and try out some of the advanced features of RHEL5 that are not included in the Desktop release (like virtualization, maybe I will not need VMware Server anymore). Keep up the great work CentOS team, I can't wait until CentOS5. And of course, thank you Red Hat for making your sources available for rebuild projects like CentOS.
