The Shield Season Five

april 23, 2007

Yes, I have satellite TV. No, it doesn't come with FX. Damn.

So each year, I have to wait until The Shield comes out on DVD before I can watch it. The wait was a long wait for season five. But it was well worth the wait! I watched the first six episodes and again I am reminded what an awesome show this is. In season four, Glenn Close brought some powerhouse acting to show. She was a great foil to Michael Chiklis' Vic Mackey.

In season five, Forrest Whitaker takes it up a notch as the ever persistant Internal Affairs Lt. Jon Kavanaugh.  The constant cat and mouse game between Kavanaugh and Mackey is exciting to watch.  Mackey's previous antagonists, Aceveda and Rawling don't hold a candle to Kavanaugh.  I cannot wait to see what happens in the rest of the season!
