First Run Post Surgery

Post-Op Information Packet

It’s been 12 weeks since I had surgery on my left rotator cuff – an injury that I got while ice skating on The Rink in Rockerfeller Center (NYC) in 2024.

I knew I was in for a long recovery after the surgery, it felt longer than I originally thought. I was waiting patiently…maybe. I got up this morning at 5:30AM so that I could do my first run post surgery.

This morning’s run was not going to be a full run because my fitness has fallen off a cliff. Last night, I setup a 6 x 400m custom session, uploaded that to my Apple Watch Ultra and I used that as my session this morning. The sleeve on my running jacket had other ideas though and it messed with the Apple Watch Ultra touchscreen causing a few bits to be skipped. It’s alright though, it was a nice run and felt good to finally be putting miles back on the HOKA Cliftons.
