Oi vey. Ultramookie was locked tighter than a < figure out your own thing to put in here >. I finally got into the box and saw that the CPU load was 150+ (off the scales) and that there were 250+ httpd processes running. After I got the machine to reboot (since I couldn't restart Apache), I looked in the logs and saw that the Apache server was pounded by AltaVista's bot. Yikes! Hopefully that won't happen again, I tuned down Apache's settings to see if I can keep that from happening.
