Matchstick Men

may 5, 2004

I have always loved Ridley Scott movies, he is definitely the more talented of the two brothers (Tony is an OK director, but too slick for is own good). Ridley has put together some classic movies: Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louis, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down. He's had some dogs also like G.I. Jane and Hannibal. But, Matchstick Men ranks up there with the classic movies. It is a slick well put together film that is thoroughly engrossing. The characters are complex and believable. And although the plot twists could be seen a mile away, Ridley handles them well and does not make the audience feel cheated. If you haven't seen Matchstick Men then pick it up as a rental, this movie is well worth seeing!
