I just switched from uw-imap over to Dovecot and there is a noticeable performance gain. Squirrelmail continues to be the webmail client of choice. Email has gotten better! (I have a Gmail account, but I have that forwarding to ultramookie. I also have a Yahoo! Mail account which is nice, but I have my Squirrelmail do POP3 fetches from there. The one thing that definitely is needed for Gmail is POP3 (or IMAP) access, I hate how all my mail is locked up over there.
