The Dish DVR (model 522) in my house just started acting weird. Nothing that was recorded could be viewed. When I pushed "Start" to start watching a recording, the screen would flicker and then it would go back to live TV. A quick reset (push and hold the Power button on the unit for five seconds) seemed to have fixed things. I have a sneaky suspicion that the latest update that was installed has a minor memory leak or something. Well, at least now I know how to reset the thing. It is still really glitchy (lots of video artifacts that pop up, dropped audio, and the occasional audio screech), but works good enough -- it is no TiVo though.
