Ok, is it me, or is Google pushing things out "just because" in some sort of pre-dotCom-explosion fashion? I mean, is there really a business plan behind the "we're so smart, we designed this thing for smart people" Google Base? I for one can't seem to figure what the point of Google Base is. It was as if some PhD was sitting around and come up with an idea to list stuff. He whipped up some scripts and Google (flush with investor cash) just pushed it out to the public. Google Base, for all I know is just a place for people to post up spam and other detritus. Of course, if you're a PhD or a Googler, and have figured out Google Base, please let me know.
