Yay! Finally, Wal-Mart gets slapped with a nice sized damages and compensation ruling. Wal-Mart did not pay their hourly workers for interrupted or denied meal breaks and broke the law because of this -- this was what a jury in Alameda County, CA found today. What was most convincing for the jury? "[M]emos by Wal-Mart from seven years ago that concluded they had been breaking the law." I hope all the pending lawsuits against and investigations into Wal-Mart turn out the same. Lawsuits like this will remind Wal-Mart that they aren't above the law.
